Buildings Are a Resilience Strategy
We’ve looked at the historic preservation of masonry walls, and we’ve looked at scaling #PassiveHouse design for #AffordableHousing models across 30+ states. Today, in Part 3 of our 4-part series leading up to #IndependenceDay, we look at the big picture: climate resilience at the macro scale.
Federal climate policy is retreating. Energy markets are volatile. Supply chains are uncertain. In that context, buildings matter more than ever. The less energy our buildings require, the less vulnerable our communities are to forces outside our control.
Most buildings that will exist in 2050 are already standing today. Modernizing codes, incentivizing retrofits, and making high-performance construction the norm aren't just climate policies, they're national resilience strategies.
The work is already underway. The question is whether policy catches up. #EnergyResilience #BuildingDecarbonization #NetZero #Architecture2030
