Hano Homes DER NESEA Tour

A tour of a 130-year-old building’s basement might sound more like a Halloween adventure than an architectural outing—but that’s exactly where the NESEA Building Energy Pro Tour took us last week. Over 40 participants joined us to explore the Hano Homes Deep Energy Retrofit project in Boston.

We’re grateful to our client, Allston Brighton CDC, for their openness in sharing process, lessons, and outcomes—and to the entire project team and Northeast Sustainable Energy Association for organizing such an engaging and inspiring event. Deep energy retrofits like this one show how thoughtful design and collaboration can breathe new life into older buildings while advancing a low-carbon future.
